Hello friends and family!

I recently graduated from ECU and this summer I will be interning with Student Action with Farmworkers (SAF) through their Into the Fields Internship for ten weeks. SAF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring students and farmworkers together to learn about each other’s lives, share resources and skills, improve conditions for farmworkers, and build diverse coalitions working for social change. I will be in Benson, North Carolina, where I will have the incredible opportunity to work with the NC Farmworkers Project. I will be assisting in farmworker outreach, conducting basic health education, interpreting, organizing events and much more. I am excited to support this organization and I need your support to make this campaign successful.

My goal is to raise a minimum of $750. SAF uses money raised from interns to provide training, stipends, and scholarships. They also use it to conduct outreach to students and farmworkers, overall educating the public about farmworkers. My campaign begins May 14^th, 2018 and ends May 20^th, 2018. Please consider making a donation of any amount you feel moved to give. Your donation is a tax-deductible contribution to support SAF’s work with farmworkers and anything is greatly appreciated.

Agricultural labor ranks in the top three most dangerous jobs in the U.S. Workers in the industry face low levels of protection, low wages, and poor living conditions. Thanks to SAF, over 100,000 farmworkers and their family members have gained access to health, legal, and education resources since 1992. Through your donation you are not only supporting farmworkers, but also students of migrant families, and interns like myself.
