Student Action with Farmworkers (SAF) changed my life and is the best organization I have ever encountered. Not only do they do awesome work, but the staff and organization as a whole have supported me and Imani in some amazing ways!
SAF brings together students and farmworkers to learn about each other's lives, share resources and skills, improve conditions for farmworkers, and build diverse coalitions working for social change. SAF works with farmworkers, students and advocates in the Southeast and nationwide to create a more just agricultural system.
I can think of no better way to celebrate Imani's life than to contribute to an organization that embodies our values fairness for workers, fairness for immigrants, honoring the people who pick our food, breaking down barriers between people of diverse backgrounds, working against racism and classism, and building youth leadership. GO SAF! SI SE PUEDE!
SAF's grassroots fundraising goal is to raise $20,000 through online fundraising and house parties!
SAF uses money raised from individuals to:
- conduct outreach to students and farmworkers,
- provide training, stipends, and scholarships for our interns, students organizers, and youth,
- share documentaries and presentations with the general public, and
- provide a living wage and full benefits to our staff
