Hola Amigos!
I am doing a fundraiser for a wonderful organization that changed my life nine years ago. Back in 2006, as a rising junior in college I participated in the Into the Fields internship program with Student Action with Farmworkers (S.A.F).
I was placed in a health clinic in the rural eastern part of N.C., where I was not only translating, but also educating our farm working communities about their rights. I was shocked to learn the living conditions farmworkers in our state of NC live in. I was privileged enough to help these communities with the basic health check-ups such as blood pressure and blood sugar level. They level of gratitude showed by farmworkers proved once again they value they are to this nation.
S.A.F’s internship challenged me, educated me, and gave me an opportunity to serve my own community. This is the reason that I ask that you help me raise funds so that other students like me can have access to this great program.

SAF's grassroots fundraising goal is to raise $20,000 through online fundraising and house parties!
SAF uses money raised from individuals to:
- conduct outreach to students and farmworkers,
- provide training, stipends, and scholarships for our interns, students organizers, and youth,
- share documentaries and presentations with the general public, and
- provide a living wage and full benefits to our staff
